A prettier swing. The same score.
“For more than two years I took golf lessons on camera, as the student, with a teaching professional every week or two. You can watch my swing get better, lesson by lesson, on the channel.
Then look at a scorecard. Nothing moved. When I finally gave golf thirty days of my whole attention, I started that month as a 22 handicap. I finished it at 8.8, and I barely worked on my swing at all.
I could leave my swing alone because I finally had a diagnosis. I knew my miss, I aimed off it, and I stopped reaching for somebody else’s tip.”
Aylex Thunder, author and host of Aylex Golf
So we went back through every lesson on the channel, all 201 of them, and broke each one down on its own. 158 are full swing lessons, from coaches who often disagreed with each other. Nobody was wrong. They were all fixing the same five things, for different bodies. This book is that pattern, sorted so you can find the part that was meant for you.
Stop collecting tips. Start diagnosing.
The book asks four questions, always in the same order: why, what, who and which. Every card below is a chapter.
Why every coach tells you something different
Ten people, ten answers, all of them certain. Why nobody is wrong, and why your cupboard of tips keeps growing while your score does not.
The five things every golf tip is trying to fix
Where on the face you hit it, where the face points, which way the club travels, whether it moves up or down, and how fast. Know them and a tip stops being magic words.
Why there is no perfect swing, and what to build instead
How to sort your limits into two piles: what your body cannot do, and what nobody has shown you how to do yet.
The ten ball strike test
An impact sticker on your driver shows where you actually hit it, plus the two dull things to rule out on the same day.
How to read your ball flight
Where the ball starts, which way it bends, what that says about impact, and the drill that turns your miss into your stock shot.
What your body can actually do
Three checks at home for your lower body, your trail shoulder and your turn. Test it instead of guessing.
Your diagnosis in one sentence
Turn your three answers into one sentence that sends you to the one chapter you need, and tells you to leave the rest alone.
The fix that is yours for your miss
Slice, hook or pull, heel or toe, sky, top or low, or a ball that goes nowhere. Every fix is labelled by who it is for, plus the popular tips to put back on the shelf.
How to spend twenty minutes of a coach’s time
Say your sentence in the first thirty seconds, ask three questions, and get the number your phone cannot give you.

14 chapters. Four parts. Three appendices.
Read Part One and Part Two in order; Part Two costs you one range session. In Part Three you read only the chapter that matches your sentence.

Written for the golfer with a cupboard full of tips
You collect tips
Coaches, tour pros, videos, a friend at the range. Your swing looks better than it did, and the number at the bottom of the card has not moved. This book tells you which of those tips were ever meant for you.
You take lessons
Hand your coach one sentence before you hit a ball. You arrive knowing which of the five things is broken, so the lesson starts where it should.
Your body is not a tour pro’s
Stiff, senior, or working around an injury. You test what your body can do, and every fix is labelled for the golfer it suits, including the stiff golfer and the arm swinger.
Not for you if you want a yardage promise. There is none in the book. Every number in it was spoken out loud in a filmed lesson, and the book tells you whose number it was. It is not a replacement for a coach either: it is the second opinion that tells you which advice was meant for you.

Your diagnosis is one range session away
The full book, 132 pages, as PDF and EPUB, with the four week plan and all 13 drills inside.
Before you buy
What exactly do I get?
The full book, 132 pages, as a digital download in PDF and EPUB, delivered instantly after checkout. Read it on any phone, tablet, computer or Kindle. The four week practice plan and every drill are written out in full inside it.
What do I need for the diagnosis?
A range, about ten balls, an impact sticker or foot powder spray for your driver face, and a phone to film your ball flight. The body checks are done at home with a club and a mirror. Part Two takes one range session.
Is it only about the driver?
The diagnosis is worked through with the driver, because it is the club that punishes a bad strike hardest. The way you decide what to work on travels to every club in your bag, and where a number came from an iron lesson the book says so.
Does it replace a coach?
No. It is a second opinion: everything our coaches have said on the channel, sorted so you can find the part meant for you. If you can stand in front of a good coach, do that too, and Chapter 13 shows you how to get the most out of twenty minutes of their time.
Is there a yardage promise?
No. Every number in the book was spoken out loud in a filmed lesson, and the book tells you whose number it was. The only thing it asks you to measure is your own score.
I play left handed. Does it still work?
Yes. The book is written for a right handed golfer, so swap the sides as you read.
Where do the lessons come from?
Every lesson in the book is on the Aylex Golf YouTube channel, taught by working teaching professionals. Appendix C tells you which lessons to watch for your diagnosis.
Instant download. Read it on any phone, tablet, computer or Kindle.
Be the student, not the collector
Aylex Golf is part of Aylex Academies, a network of channels in golf, badminton, tennis, pickleball and piano, on a mission to inspire and shape how people learn. On every channel the idea is the same: a real coach, a real lesson and a camera, with Aylex as the one getting it wrong first.
The thirty days from 22 to 8.8 are the next book. You can watch the month as Road to Pro on our channels.
